Oxygol is a selective contact herbicide containing Oxyfluorfen 23.5% EC, specially formulated for effective control of broadleaf weeds and certain grassy weeds. It belongs to the diphenyl ether group of herbicides and is widely used as a pre-emergence and early post-emergence weed control solution. Oxygol acts by disrupting chlorophyll formation in susceptible weeds, causing rapid necrosis and weed death. It provides long-lasting residual control, helping crops remain weed-free during their critical growth stages. Oxygol reduces weed competition for nutrients, water, and sunlight, thereby promoting healthy crop growth and improving yield potential.
Oxygol acts as a contact herbicide by inhibiting the enzyme Protoporphyrinogen Oxidase (PPO), resulting in disruption of chlorophyll synthesis. This leads to membrane damage, rapid desiccation, and death of susceptible weeds upon exposure to sunlight.
Onion, Garlic, Groundnut, Tea, Rice (Transplanted), Cotton, Soybean, Sunflower, and various Plantation & Horticultural Crops.
